Clipped Signature - James Chesshire. A Major in the Royal Engineers, he was captured on 8th January 1944. He was sent to the infamous Colditz, arriving on 30th July 1944 where he was held until liberation. He died in October 2000. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
Clipped Signature - Peter Parker. An officer in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was captured at Calais in May 1940, and spent the rest of the war as a prisoner. After briefly escaping from Eichstatt via a tunnel, he was eventually incarcerated in Colditz, where outwitting the guards was a daily objective. After liberation he continued his military career. He died in 2011 aged 93. |
Clipped Signature - Alan L MacCall. A Lieutenant in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, he was captured on 12th June 1940 when the 51st Highland Division of the British Expeditionary Force surrendered to Erwin Rommel in Normandy. After three years he was sent to the notorious Colditz on 23rd June 1943, where he remained until liberation. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
Clipped Signature - Hugh Bruce. A Royal Marine, he was captured defending Calais in May 1940. He made escape attempts from several prison camps, including a 12-day escape through a tunnel where he was recaptured just yards from freedom in Denmark. He spent three years in Colditz and was involved in several unsuccessful escape attempts here. He died in 2003. Clipped Signature - F W C Weldon. A Captain in the Royal Horse Artillery, he was captured on 12th June 1940 when the 51st Highland Division surrendered to Erwin Rommel in Normandy. He arrived at the famous Colditz castle prison on 2nd July 1943 where he remained until liberation. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
Clipped Signature - I S Price. A Lieutenant in the Gordon Highlanders, he was captured on 12th June 1940 when the 51st Highland Division surrendered to Erwin Rommel in Normandy. He arrived at Colditz castle prison on 8th August 1941 and is known to have participated in several escape attempts, but he remained there until liberation. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
Clipped Signature - J D Fergusson. A Lieutenant in the Royal Tank Regiment, he was captured on the 13th June 1940 in France. Eventually, he was taken to the notorious castle Colditz on 30th June 1943 where he would spend the rest of the war until liberation. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
