The French Retreat at Katzbach, August 26th 1813 By Richard Knotel (PC) Seen here, the French flee over the bridge of Nieder-Crayn during the heavy thunderstorm that took place at The Battle of the Katzbach River. Hundreds of men would drown in the flooding rivers of the Katzbach and the Raging Neisse on their retreat from the brutal battle, fought largely in melee combat as a result of damp musket powder. |

During the armistice, the signing of the Treaties of Reichenbach was held the on 27th of June, 1813 at Reichenbach town hall. These treaties stood to establish a closer coalition between Great Britain Prussia, Russia and Austria and a strong military alliance against Napoleon. |

Battle of the Nations Near Leipzig 16th - 19th October, 1813 By Richard Knotel The Battle of Leipzig (also known as The Battle of Nations) was one of the largest battles in the Napoleonic Wars and a decisive victory for the Coalition forces. The battle involved intense fighting and resulted in significant casualties on both sides. Ultimately, the Coalition forces surrounded and defeated Napoleons army, leading to his retreat from Germany and marking a critical turning point in the campaign against his rule in Europe. The battle solidified the Coalitions resolve and paved the way for further military successes against France. |
