Air Marshal Sir Gareth Clayton KCB DFC
Involved in Bomber Command shipping searches from September 25th 1939 until the end of April 1940 as Flying Officer G Clayton, Blenheim pilot, No.107 Sqn. He commanded No.576 Sqn before taking on a role with the Air Staff. Post-war he took on a number of senior roles, lastly as Air Secretary in 1970 before retirement in 1972. He died on 5th February 1992.

Clipped Signature - Sir Gareth Clayton. Flew Blenheims with No.107 Sqn early in World War Two before taking command of No.576 Sqn in 1943. He joined the Air Staff and after the war took on a number of senior roles, his last being Air Secretary from 1970 until retirement in 1972. He died in 1992. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
