Private J. Regan Attacks A Party Of Germans With His revolver, Drives Them Back, And Saves A Machine Gun. When Private J. Regan, of the Machine gun Corps, was with another gunner at an advanced gun post, the enemy managed to work down communication trench, and throw a bomb, which killed the gunner before the gun could be mounted. Private Regan at once attacked the party with his revolver, drove him back, and saved the gun. For this act of conspicuous gallantry he was awarded the D.C.M. |
