USS Enterprise by Randall Wilson Commissioned on November 25, 1961, the USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) was the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and the longest naval vessel ever built, at over 1,100 feet. it was powered by eight Westinghouse A2W reactors, allowing for high speeds exceeding 30-40 knots. The Enterprise served in key Cold War roles, including the Cuban Missile Crisis and also was the first nuclear powered ship in combat during the Vietnam War. Cranston Fine Arts have arranged with the artist Randall Wilson to produce a low cost limited edition of 100 prints only. Numbered only, not signed. A canvas edition also available. |
