Clipped Signature - Lord Sir John Hunt. Commissioned into the King's Royal Rifle Corps in 1930 on graduation from Sandhurst, served as a Commando instructor in World War Two and led motorised infantry in Italy. Always interested in mountaineering, he was selected to lead the expedition which made the first ascent of Everest in 1953. He retired from the Army in 1956 but was an important political and military advisor. He died in 1988. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
