Clipped Signature - Joe Ekins. A gunner in Firefly tanks with the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomary in Normandy, he claimed 4 tanks in one day on 8th August 1944. Amongst the three German Tiger tanks he destroyed that day, he is thought to have killed the infamous tank ace Michael Wittmann. He was then posted to another tank crew as a wireless operator and never fired a gun again. He died in 2012. One Available Only. SOLD. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
